​ABOUT ZODIAC
The unknown Brand from the Swiss Jura
Zodiac was founded in 1882 by Arist Calame in Le Locle near La Chaux-de-Fonds. In 1930 the brand first launched wristwatches with automatic movements. In 1951 the modern, architecturally daring company building was inaugurated above the train station in Le Locle, which is unfortunately empty today. From 1955, the brand attracted attention with its robust "Sea Wolf" diving watches. In 1969 the futuristic "Astrographic" model came on the market, which did not show the time with hands but with transparent disks. Zodiac did not survive the quartz crisis and was sold to the American Fossil Group in 2001 after several changes of ownership. The watches are made in Switzerland and feature manufactured movements.
